Five airline companies are adding new destinations to their winter operations from Lanzarote.

Volcano update

The volcano on La Palma continues to emit lava, which has once again reached the sea at Playa Los Guirres, just to the south of where the first lava flow tumbled off a cliff into the ocean on 29th September.

€390,000 to restore Las Bolas bridge and Castillo de San Gabriel

The €390,000 investment will go towards changes to the bridge and surrounding area, along with new lights to be installed.

Staff shortages in tourism and construction

Tourism and construction federations on Lanzarote have warned that the island lacks qualified workers to cover the island's necessities, partly as a result of people leaving the island during the pandemic.

70% fewer tourists compared to 2019

Lanzarote recorded 70% fewer tourists in the first 9 months of this year, compared to figures from 2019.

The Lanzarote Cabildo and Canarian Goverment continue to collaborate efforts towards stopping gender violence.

The Arrecife goverment to spend €4.5 million to clean schools

The €4.5 million will go towards cleaning schools from nurseries to primary schools, and will also increase the number of cleaners in schools.
