In August this year, the Dr. Jose Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife received a new and innovative piece of equipment (an endotracheal tube and mask with video camera) which allows doctors to see exactly what is happening at all times with the patient.
The main hospital in Arrecife has been given new and innovative equipment to be used in surgeries – which has already been used in eight procedures with good results.
Designed by a Spanish doctor, the new endotracheal tube and mask has a micro video camera attached with a screen facing outwards. This new piece of equipment allows the doctors to see exactly what is happening at all times with the patient in the operating theatre.
The introduction of the new equipment makes the Molina Orosa hospital one of only twenty hospitals in Spain, and the first in the Canary Islands, to use the new technology.
