The Arrecife Ayuntamiento have announced a new programme for the elderly residents of the city, which promotes healthy exercise and social activities.

Through the Social Services Department of the municipality, the Arrecife Ayuntamiento have launched new “healthy and therapeutic walks for the elderly of the municipality” whose main objective is that the elderly do not feel lonely and can leave their homes accompanied.
Head of Social Services, María Jesús Tovar, stated “our intention is to offer the elderly a complete programme of activities throughout the year that meets their needs and helps them enjoy an active lifestyle,” and stresses that “it will help put an end to many situations of loneliness, emphasised by the pandemic.”.
The programme will run until the end of December, with one-hour walks at 9am from the Arrecife Day Centre for the Elderly. Those interested in participating, or those with interested relatives, can contact 928 807 154 for more information.
