The Yaiza Ayuntamiento, with a budget of €172,000, are carrying out work to replace streets lights in several areas around Playa Blanca.

The Ayuntamiento are replacing older street light models in accordance with the municipalities aim to reduce energy consumption and increase efficiency.

The areas in which street lamps will be replaced include the Avenida Papagayo and Costa Papagayo. When walking along these streets you will notice either street lamps that do not work, or street lamps that need new bulbs.

In addition to replacing street lamps, the €172,000 budget will go towards the replacement of bulbs with new LED ones and the replacement of damaged poles with new materials resistant to sun and erosion.

Public Works Councilor, Jonatan Lemes, stated “the budget requires a total of €172,000, of which €92,000 are financed with municipal resources, and €80,000 from a grant from the Canarian Government.
