Last week, the Cabildo President, Minister of Tourism, CEOs of Art & Culture and the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society held nearly 50 meetings at the Madrid International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2022), with the aim of post-Covid tourism recovery.

The meetings included tour operators, airlines, tourism offices, technology organisations, travel agencies as well as other representatives world wide.

Cabildo President, María Dolores Corujo, highlighted that “each of the meetings encompassed fundamental ideas such as the recognition of Lanzarote as a quality destination for more than 20 years.”

“One of the most remarkable figures after the meetings has been the 30% increase of Iberia Express seat bookings on trips between Lanzarote and Madrid, which means better and more accessible connectivity on a flight that is usually in high demand.”

The CEO of the Tourist Centres, Benjamín Perdomo, noted that “There has been a change in the last two editions. There was more dynamism, more enthusiasm. There enormous desire for destinations to return to normality after the pandemic was palpable.”
