€1.72 million will be spent on various leisure facilities in Playa Honda, including “senior playgrounds” for elderly people.
Facilities will be renovated in areas ranging from Calle San Borondón, La Plazuela, C/Guardilama and C/Velero, with calisthenic playgrounds and “healthy” circuits for older people.
A further €634,000 will be destined to similar projects in the town of San Bartolomé, mainly in the Parque de Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente.
“Playgrounds for the Third Age”, featuring various pieces of equipment that can be used to improve strength, flexibility and co-ordination are a very popular concept in Spain and the Canaries, and several already exist on the island.
