At the request of Yaiza Ayuntamiento, the Official Language School in Arrecife has opened a location in Playa Blanca for the 23/24 school year, classes starting today.
The school has a total of 52 pupils, 40 of which are studying at A2.1 level and 12 in B1.1 level of English.
Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, applauds the opening of the school pointing out that “we proposed the opening of the language school in Playa Blanca to promote learning among our young people and improve the skills of the staff in the tourism sector. We’re also considering expanding the courses on offer to more languages in favour of social integrations in a multicultural municipality like Yaiza, where residents of 81 different nationalities live together.”.
Noda is grateful for the collaboration of the School’s Director, Ignacio Vilalta, “who welcomed the proposal at the beginning of the year, as well as the collaboration of the politicians responsible for Education in government who also understood the importance of the initiative which is now a reality.”.
The centre is at the CEIP Playa Blanca school along the Avenida Faro Pechiguera just past the industrial block.
