The Tías Ayuntamiento have removed 24 electric scooters from Puerto del Carmen as part of a plan to regulate when and where the scooters can be used.
Electric scooters have always been a topic of debate in Lanzarote, with some highlighting their uses for urban mobility and others claiming that they are a hazard if unregulated.
The Tías Ayuntamiento have taken this into account and removed 24 scooters from circulation in Puerto del Carmen. They aim to regulate the use of electric scooters to properly integrate and make them safer for tourists and residents of Puerto del Carmen.
The future Mobility Plan will aim to make electric scooters complement public transport without interrupting or conflicting with other forms of transport.
