Lanzarote entrepreneurs aren’t resting idle during the lockdown. Doctor Stitch from Teguise, is putting his time to good use creating protective masks for ambulance staff.
San Bartolomé fashion designer Oswaldo Machín, who is usually designing stunning wedding dresses at this time of year, has also been creating face masks for social organisations on Lanzarote.
Oswaldo stresses that the masks, which are made of cotton sheets, are not capable of preventing transmission of the virus, but says they are to provide emotional support and raise consciousness about the importance of quarantine.
