Residents of Los Ancones, the small village situated to the north- east of Costa Teguise, have complained about the “abandonment’ of the zone and demanded that Teguise Ayuntamiento and the Cabildo take immediate action.
The residents complain that the dirt track leading to Los Ancones is not repaired regularly, and its deteriorating state has led to people suffering falls and damage to their vehicles.
They’ also criticized the lack of signage and lighting, and claim that they don’t use the inappropriate rubbish container provided as the strong winds in the area strew the rubbish around.
“We are a village in this municipality: We pay taxes but not a single Euro is spent on fixing the road,” said one resident. “We’ve been a regular maintenance service for over 25 years, but nothing has been done.”
