The Yaiza Ayuntamiento are planning to open the La Degollada picnic area next week, once works have been completed.

The La Degollada picnic area will soon have pergolas for shade at each of the five barbecue areas and 13,000 square metres of space. Mayor of Yaiza, Oscar Noda, supervised the works taking place along with Yaiza Councilor of Public Buildings, Ruben Arca.

“This recreational area belongs to all the residents of the municipality and is for the enjoyment of families. However, we urge you to not use the space until we finish the current works and the general overhaul of the area”, added Arca.

Noda continued, “we have commissioned a project to install permanent toilets, however, in the short term we will provide temporary cubicles.

The picnic area has trees for shade, but it is clear that the new pergolas improve the area, and it projects a better image of the place.”.
