If you’ve enjoyed the last month’s carnival parades and don’t want to miss next year’s events, here’s a rough guide to when the events are likely to be.

The key to carnival events is Shrove Tuesday (or Pancake Day). Once you know when that is, you can work out when many of the rest of the parades will be.

Arrecife’s big parade – the first of the season – always takes place on the Monday before Shrove Tuesday. There are then four weekends of carnival parades, with parades taking place at 5-6pm on each Saturday.  The pattern for the last few years has been as follows:

1st Saturday after Shrove Tuesday: Puerto del Carmen.

2nd Saturday: Haría

3rd Saturday: Costa Teguise & Tinajo

4th Saturday: Playa Blanca & La Graciosa

Shrove Tuesday falls on 4th March next year. As a result, the most likely dates for next year’s carnival parades are as follows. However, we must stress that the dates, especially the later ones, are not officially confirmed.

Likely carnival dates 2025

3rd March: Arrecife

8th March:  Puerto del Carmen.

15th March: Haría

22nd March: Costa Teguise

29th March: Playa Blanca
