From Saturday UK travellers will have to have a compelling reason to enter the country, as well as having to provide a negative Covid test 24 hours before travelling.
France will be tightening travel restrictions amid fears over Britain’s rising Omicron cases. From midnight on Saturday morning UK travellers will have to provide a compelling reason for travel if they are to be allowed into the country.
All travellers will need to provide a compelling reason for travel regardless of their vaccination status, and will have to provide a negative Covid test 24 hours before flying.
Compelling reasons include visiting family but do not include tourism or non-urgent work reasons.
In addition you will have to register via a digital platform to provide your destination address in France. The platform will order for mandatory isolation of every traveller, regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not.
If a new negative test is shown (PCR or Antigen) after 48h of isolation then the mandatory quarantine can be lifted.
