A council worker known as the “Gravedigger of Tinajo”, has been arrested by the police, along with a 57-year-old woman who is suspected of being his accomplice.
The man is suspected of having used his council job to use the local cemetery and dog pounds as locations for selling narcotics. Local police claim he was one of the major drug dealers in the north of Lanzarote.
A search discovered 525 grammes of cocaine, 340 grammes of marijuana, €21,000 in cash and a set of precision scales.
