Today is All Saints Day, a national holiday in Spain, when families traditionally visit cemetaries to pay tribute to their deceased relatives.

As a result, many shops and businesses will be closed, although larger supermarkets and many other businesses in the resorts will remain open.

As a non-movable national public holiday, the lowest off-peak electricity rate will also apply all day.

On Lanzarote, tonight is known as the Noche de Finaos, a time when musicians would go into the streets and play songs in honour of the dead. This tradition is at its strongest in La Villa de Teguise, although it was suspended during the pandemic. There has been no official confirmation that it will take place this evening.
