The Arrecife Ayuntamiento have recently put out to tender the 1.1-million-euro remodelling project of Calle Manolo Millares.

The 1.1-million-euro remodelling project of Calle Manolo Millares will see the winning company carry out works to improve pedestrian accessibility, widen pavements, resurface the road, plant trees, improve rainwater drainage and renovate street lighting.
Mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, points out that the project “responds to the initiative of the municipal government group to make Arrecife a more pleasant and walkable city for pedestrians, improving accessibility in the area.”.
Arrecife Ayuntamiento’s Councillor for Town Planning, Eduardo Placeres, added that the project “will notable improve pedestrian accessibility by aligning pavements and roadways on a single platform, as well as the condition of the road that will soon be resurfaced.”.
According to the project, the specifics of the works to be carried out include the reconfiguration of traffic lanes and pedestrian areas, the execution of a new rainwater collection network, the provision of underground channelling for future instalments (telecommunications, lighting etc) and the planting of trees along the pavement.
1.3 million euros towards Tendrete de Argana Alta
In addition to the announcement of their Calle Manolo Millares project, the Arrecife Ayuntamiento announced that they have awarded 1.3 million euros to the improvement of Tendrete de Argana Alta also.
The winning company, Lanzagrava SL, will conduct the comprehensive reform of the road including resurfacing, sidewalk renovations, streetlight improvements, a new rainwater channelling system and planting trees. The execution period for this project is 11 months.
