The El Coral Apartments in Los Pocillos have been chosen by the Cabildo to temporarily accommodate health workers fighting the coronavirus outbreak on Lanzarote.
Cabildo President María Dolores Corujo announced the decision after use of the 50 apartments had been offered by the Pérez Moreno firm.
Health workers are particularly at risk of contracting the virus, and this means they will not run the risk of returning home and transmitting the virus to family members.
Other hotels and apartments have also offered their services to security forces and firefighters, who are also at the frontline of the battle against coronavirus.
