Car that crashed into Orvecame was “fleeing from police”

The car that crashed into the display window of Orvecame-Cicar in Playa Honda yesterday morning was fleeing from a Guardia Civil checkpoint, it has been revealed.

The vehicle contained a couple and a third person, who were slightly injured in the incident. According to sources close to the investigation, the car was fleeing from the Guardia Civil after the driver had tested positive for alcohol.

The car appears to have been returning from Monday night’s carnival celebrations in Arrecife.
