Surgeons have completed the first bone graft on Lanzarote at the Dr José Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife.
A team of specialists, led by Dr. Yolanda Rodríguez, have completed the very first bone graft on Lanzarote. The patient, a 47-year-old woman who had suffered severe bone loss in her hip, underwent the complex surgery successfully and is recovering well.
Irene Jiménez, head of the Traumatology Unit at the Dr José Molina Orosa hospital, stated that “we performed this intervention because we now have the resources to do it and it has opened the door to being able to take on cases [that require the complex surgery] in the future.”
