Winds knock down stage tower in Puerto del Carmen

The strong winds suffered yesterday on Lanzarote resulted in one of the stage towers at the plaza de El Varadero to blow over.

At approximately 2:30pm, emergency services were called to Puerto del Carmen’s old town after reports that one of the stage towers had collapsed due to strong winds.

Upon arrival, fire fighters acted promptly to allow access for a crane to come and secure the tower.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
