This Monday, strong winds on the island forced three flights to divert to Fuerteventura from Newcastle, Stanstead, and Bilbao.
The strong winds and calima have proved challenging for pilots in the past, with diversions to Fuerteventura or delayed flights. Three flights bound for Lanzarote were forced to divert to Fuerteventura due wind speeds of up to 59km/h according to AEMET.
The boat between Playa Blanca and Corralejo has been affected by the high wind speeds today. Líneas Romero have cancelled all departures from Playa Blanca and Corralejo due to the wind.
