Cabildo President Dolores Corujo has confirmed the temporary closure of the CACTs (Centres of Art, Culture and Tourism) as a measure to contain the coronavirus.
The Fire Mountains at Timanfaya, Jameos del Agua, the Cueva de los Verde, Mirador del Rio, the Cactus Garden, the Monumento del Campesino House/Museum, the MIAC/Castillo de San José and the Casa Amarilla in Arrecife will all be affected. The exact length of the closure has not yet been revealed, but is likely to match the two-week period that has been established in other decrees.
The president also issued an appeal for calm, praising the preparedness of the island for tackling the challenge of the coronavirus.
