Tanker accident at Papagayo

A tanker fell down a cliffside at Papagayo’s Playa de la Cera yesterday, causing the beach to be closed off for the rest of the day.

The tanker was apparently on its way to drain sewage from the restaurant that sits on the headland between Playa de la Cera and Playa Papagayo. It is reported that it only contained water when the incident occurred.

No one was injured in the incident, and a specialised company will remove the tanker this morning.
