Airline company Surcar Airlines will bring seaplanes into operation in the Canary Islands this autumn, with routes aimed at an estimate of 15,000 passengers, linking the islands in just a 30-minute flight.
Surcar Airlines is the first Spanish airline to use seaplanes in Spain. “Seaplane transport has been demonstrated in cities such as Copenhagen, Vancouver and Seattle, where seaplanes have been important modes of regional transport for a long time”, stated Surcar Airlines last Thursday.
Surcar Airlines will carry out their first flight between Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Palma, to demonstrate the viability of the project which aims to revolutionise inter-island transport.
