A 30-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being injured by gunshots in Playa Honda last night.
Residents reported hearing gunfire on Calle Cordel in Playa Honda at around 1 am. A man was later left at the Emergency Department of the Hospital José Molina Orosa in Arrecife by an unknown person.
The victim is reported to have gunshot wounds in the leg and back but is “out of danger”. Police are investigating the incident.
Incidents involving firearms are extremely rare on Lanzarote.
