A Scottish holiday-maker who went missing at César Manrique Airport before his flight home has been found dead, news sources confirmed yesterday.
Robert Campbell, 44, from Uddington in South Lanarkshire, was described as “vulnerable” and was separated from his companion before flying home last Thursday, after earlier being admitted to hospital.
Family members who flew over in an attempt to locate him reported that his body had been found on Tuesday night. No further details have been given.
A Gofundme page set up to raise the €6,000 required for funeral costs has already exceeded its target, following an appeal by Campbell’s sister.
Meanwhile, there is still no news of Gary Shearer, the 53-year-old Scottish tourist who was last seen in Puerto del Carmen on the night of 16th March. Shearer, who suffered from epilepsy and diabetes, has not been since, despite several searches.
