Tourist arrivals from Ireland now nearly 50% higher than those from Germany for the first eleven months of 2025.
According to figures released by the Lanzarote Data Centre, the island welcomed 349,446 Irish tourists between January and November. During the same period, 236,131 travellers arrived from Germany, La Voz reports.
This means Lanzarote has received 47.9% more Irish holidaymakers than German visitors so far this year. The figures underscore a dramatic reversal from a decade ago. In 2015, Germany supplied 40% more tourists than Ireland, with 297,285 German arrivals compared to 212,202 from Ireland.
Irish tourism has grown by 9.2% compared to 2024, representing an increase of more than 32,000 people. Conversely, the German market has seen a slight decline of 3.3%, equating to roughly 8,000 fewer visitors year-on-year.
The United Kingdom firmly retains its position as the island’s primary source market, and its lead is growing. From January to November this year, a total of 1,575,917 people have travelled from British airports to Lanzarote. This is an increase of 32,000 compared to 2024, and half a million more than in the same period in 2015.
