Tías Ayuntamiento want to avoid transport issues for the upcoming carnival celebrations and have informed residents and tourists about the temporary bus and taxi changes.

At the request of Tías Ayuntamiento, taxis in the municipality will collaborate with other municipalities “in anticipation of an excessive demand for taxis that may arise.”.

Tías’ taxi centre will be able to request taxis from other municipalities when its own fleet is unavailable due to demand. This service will be available in the Varadero area of the Old Town this Saturday and Sunday from 1am to 6am.

Regarding buses, the number 2 line linking Arrecife to Puerto del Carmen will be reinforced on Saturday from 5pm until 6am on Sunday. The number 34 line will have a special service at 4:30am on Sunday departing from the Las Vistas stop.

From 3pm to 10pm on Saturday, February 17th, the taxi ranks at San Antonio Hotel, Barcarola, Casino, Centro Comercial Atlántico, Centro Comercial Arena Dorada, Caletón and Centro Comercial Soco will be cancelled. Due to these closures, temporary taxi ranks will be set up at Calle Noruega, Calle Pedro Barba, Calle César Manrique and Calle Guanapay.

At the same time, the bus stops at the San Antonio Hotel, Casino, Centro Comercial Atlántico, Caletón Blanco will be cancelled, and a provisional stop will be set up at Calle Noruega.

From 5:30pm to 11pm on Saturday, February 17th, the taxi ranks at the Fariones Hotel will be cancelled and the bus stops at Costa Volcán, Centro Comercial Biosfera, IES Puerto del Carmen Parada Preferente will be cancelled. A temporary stop will be set up at the Rambla Islas Canarias.
