Works on the new Playa Blanca port are progressing as the construction of the new breakwater is nearly complete. Here’s how it’s going so far:
The 40-million-euro port has been under construction for a couple of years now and from when we took a look around the site at the start of the year, it doesn’t look for from completion.
Not only will the new port allow for larger ships, but it will also have two large carparks with a total space for up to 275 vehicles and spaces for taxis/buses.
Puertos Canarios managing director, Manuel Ortega, explained “the construction of the breakwater is moving at a very good pace, it’s already functional. Work is still continuing on the breakwater.”.
The new expansion will provide 155 spots for boats within the small dock, which through their website you can rent for a minimum of six months and a maximum of four years.
We’ll be going back to the new port soon to take some updated pictures.
