Pedro San Ginés was yesterday elected as general Secretary of the Coalición Canaria on Lanzarote at the party’s conference in Costa Teguise.

San Ginés, who served as President of Lanzarote’s Cabildo from 2009 until 2019 and currently represents the Canaries in Spain’s Senate, was elected with a 95% majority, and will replace the outgoing secretary Migdalia Machín.

The Coalición Canaria is currently the principal partner in the Canarian regional government, Lanzarote’s Cabildo and Teguise Ayuntamiento in alliance with the PP.  The party is also a strong influence in the Arrecife Ayuntamiento and rules Tinajo with an absolute majority.
