Yesterday the Maritime Rescue Service attended a patera carrying 54 people that was approximately 25 miles off the coast of Lanzarote, including two minors and a pregnant woman.
The rescue services had received notice of the incoming arrival and began reconnaissance of the coast.
In total, the patera was carrying 54 people. Maritime Rescue brought them to the island where Cruz Roja staff were waiting to provide aid.
Among the 54 arrivals were two minors and four women, one of which was pregnant and was later taken to hospital.
