New crash barriers will be installed on the LZ2 road between Arrecife and Tías at a cost of €800,000.
Existing barriers will be removed and replaced with newer ones that are adapted for impacts with motorcycles and mopeds. Motorcyclists have been complaining about the dangers caused by older crash barriers for several years,
The Cabildo awarded the contract to Señalizaciones Villar, and the work is expected to be carried out in the first few months of the next legislative term following elections in May next year.
