Passenger numbers on Lanzarote’s intercity bus network saw an 8.1% increase in 2025, with official data revealing record-breaking monthly figures.
According to statistics from the Lanzarote Data Centre, the island’s buses carried a total of 8.2 million passengers last year. This is an increase of 8.1% compared to 2024, equating to 619,865 more travellers.
The year was marked by a new milestone, with monthly passenger numbers exceeding 700,000 for the first time across July, August, October, November, and December.
July saw the largest growth, with 94,300 more passengers than in July 2024. This brought the month’s total to 741,896, a rise of 10.6%.
The other months surpassing 700,000 passengers were October (708,392), August (722,709), November (724,494), and December (731,639).
