Woman rescued at Papagayo Beach after fall

A woman was rescued by emergency services at Papagayo Beach in Playa Blanca yesterday afternoon, after suffering a serious ankle injury.

Emergency services were alerted at approximately 3:20pm. The report stated a woman had suffered a broken ankle after falling at the beach, and that an ambulance was unable to reach the remote location directly.

Upon arrival, crews found local police already assisting the injured woman. She was experiencing severe pain in her left ankle.

Emergency personnel immobilised the injury. The woman was then transported to a nearby ambulance.

Paramedics took over and transported her to the Dr Jose Molina Orosa for further assessment and treatment.
