Lanzarote has hired Tenerife-based company, Cumbre 8 Islas, to transform its current tourism model at a cost of three million euros.
The Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT), has awarded the contract to Cumbre 8 Islas who will have four years, with the possibility of a year extension, “to provide external technical assistance for the design and management of projects and strategic initiatives.”
In Cumbre 8 Islas’ proposal it states that it will work with the CACT to “identify key areas for improvement and opportunities for tourism transformation”, propose or design “projects that contribute to transforming the current tourism model”, and “integrate sustainable practices and innovative technologies in the tourism model that contribute to boosting the model towards one where the landscape, culture, art and traditions of the island are the centre of action.”
