Gusts of wind of up to 78 kph caused a number of flights scheduled to land at Lanzarote to be redirected to Fuerteventura yesterday.

The wind affected three Ryanair flights from Leeds, Manchester and Madrid, which were diverted to Fuerteventura due to “adverse weather”, according to AENA. However, the company said that the flights arrived on Lanzarote shortly afterwards.

AEMET reported that wind speeds of up to 78km/h were recorded at the airport weather station at approximately 7pm.
