Canarian meme page @7IslasCanarias posted a picture of the “Hierro-Hop” to their social media pages yesterday and it has since garnered thousands of likes, comments and shares.
Ale-Hop is a chain of variety stores originally based in Valencia, and their trademark cow statue can be seen outside of every store.
Since there are no Ale-Hop branches on El Hierro, a clever shop owner decided to open their own take on the store and called theirs “Hierro-Hop”, replacing the cow with a ram wearing a cowbell.
After the shop was spotted by 7IslasCanarias and posted to their meme pages across Facebook, X and Instagram, the post quickly took off.
The Hierro-Hop owners noticed this and posted to Instagram thanking the page owner:
“Today several of our acquaintances inside and outside of El Hierro have sent us the meme, accompanied by a congratulations or wishing us future success.”
“We really want to thank 7IslasCanarias for making our shop visible.”
“And those who pass by our store, remember to ring the bell when entering.”
“Small gifts, big smiles!”
