Four people became trapped in a lift at the Pancho Lasso art school yesterday afternoon.
The incident was reported at 6.30, and on arrival firemen found the lift trapped between the ground and first floors. With the aid of an OTIS technician, they disconnected the electricity, opened the doors and freed the occupants, all of whom were in good health.
Students recently protested against the state of the electrics in the school building, with frequents cuts affecting lighting, ceramic kilns, sewing machines and computers. It is not known whether the lift’s failure is linked to this issue.
