Lanzarote cheeses have been awarded at yet again, this time the World Cheese Awards held in Trondheim, Norway.
A truly global cheese event, World Cheese brings together cheesemakers, retailers, buyers and food commentators worldwide to judge over 4,000 cheeses from over 40 countries. The World Cheese Awards took place in Trondheim, Norway in October this year.
Lanzarote’s cheeses have impressed judges once again, with a total of 12 awards being given to local cheeses from Finca de Uga, Queseria El Faro and Quesería Montaña Blanca.
Finca de Uga came away with 4 bronze awards for their Don Nicolas, Bodega de Oveja, Rojillo and Vulcano cheeses and a gold award for their Untado En Pimenton cheese.
Quesería El Faro came away with 2 bronze awards for their pimenton cured goats cheese and their smoked goats cheese and 3 silver awards for their natural cured goats cheese, semi-cured goats cheese and their soft goats cheese.
Quesería Montaña Blanca came away with 2 bronze awards for their Guatisea Viejo and Guatisea Semicurado cheeses.
