This week the Yaiza Ayuntamiento have finalised the installation of new CCTV cameras in the centre of town.

The Yaiza Ayuntamiento have installed nine new cameras in the centre of Playa Blanca along the Avenida Papagayo and the parking space at the Papagayo centre, among other locations. The Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, also confirmed that cameras have been installed at the bins on calle El Comedero where residents complained of regular fly-tipping.
“The cameras have a good resolution, range and angle of vision and are equipped with licence plate readers to identify possible offending vehicles. It is a useful tool that helps the work of the local police force and therefore is intended to improve public safety”, Noda assured residents.
