Lanzarote’s tourist professionals flew to the FITUR travel fair in January with a clear mission – to shore up the island’s main industry following the collapse of Thomas Cook and the closure of the Ryanair bases on the Canaries.
Headed by Cabildo President Dolores Corujo and the Councillor for Tourism Promotion, Ángel Vásquez, the Lanzarote team had arranged meeting with representatives of more than 25 travel operators and airlines.
This year, Lanzarote appeared on the Biosphere Destinations stand and also publicised a new brand titled Lanzarote Music Festivals, aimed at attracting visitors to events such as Sonidos Líquidos and Arrecife En Vivo.
