Dreaming of a red Christmas
Fancy a week in a Lanzarote villa, for free? Course you do. Then head to the UD Lanzarote’s 12 Days of Christmas page and find out how to win the perfect end of year prize.
David Timmons, who astounded the island by raising thousands for Emerlan at the height of lockdown, is offering everyone the chance to enter a daily draw for just €10. Every day , from the 12th December onward, a week’s holiday in a gorgeous villa, apartment or hotel will be given away free. This brilliant idea aims to help UD Lanzarote through tough times, after the Cabildo closed the stadium to spectators.

Long Brunch
A Brunch and Wine Tasting afternoon held by Niños del Tercer Mundo at LilyJacks restaurant at Finca de la Florida on Saturday 7th raised €285 for school projects in Peru and Ethiopia.
John Mac entertained participants, and led a tour of the vineyards, while Ronn Ballantyne took this spectacular photo of sunset at the Finca. NTM would like to thank everyone who supported the event.
Licence renewal
British citizens have been advised to change their British licences for Spanish ones before the end of the year, but the lack of appointments has made this process difficult. As a result, the DGT has introduced a new process, which will accept applications before the 30th December. You can do this via their online portal if you have a digital certificate/CLAVE, or by calling 060, and a gestor can help you. Three days later you should be able to request an appointment for the change-over, which may take place during the first six months of 2021.
To find out more, go to the Brits In Spain Facebook page or visit the Living In Spain pages at gov.uk.
Ironman is back!
Lanzarote’s biggest sporting event will return on 22nd May, bringing spectacle, passion and hundreds of triumphant stories to Puerto del Carmen. There’ll be changes, sure, but the return of this gruelling, inspiring challenge is terrific news for Lanzarote.
La Santa have already started taking reservations for the race. If you fancy pushing yourself to the limit, get in touch at www.clublasanta.com.
