Car pile up at Playa Honda

A three-car pile-up at Playa Honda caused long delays on the LZ-2 main road heading south to Playa Blanca yesterday morning.

Just after 9.30 am a woman was trapped in her vehicle after running into the back of a car before being shunted by the car behind.

Lanzarote’s firemen used hydraulic shears to remove the roof of the vehicle and extricate the driver, a 41-year-old woman who was taken to Arrecife’s general hospital with “light injuries.”.

The firemen then disconnected the batteries of the three cars and cleared the road while Guardia Civíl traffic agents directed traffic.
