The Canary Islands have received the first batch of vaccines against Monkeypox – the first shipment, made up of 203 doses of vaccines, has arrived on Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

The Canary Islands have received a shipment of 203 Monkeypox vaccine doses, which have been distributed to Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
The vaccinations will be carried out by appointment in health centres, targeting those that are currently receiving PrEP treatment against HIV or close contacts of confirmed cases that show symptoms.
From today residents will be contacted and vaccinations will commence tomorrow in planned health centres and vaccination points.
