Airports in the Canary Islands recorded a total of 4,589,804 travellers in April this year, 9% more than in the same month of 2024.

Of the total number of travellers registered, 4,568,281 correspond to passengers on commercial flights, of which 1,853,878 travelled on domestic flights, 8.5% more than in April last year, and 2,714,403 on international flights, 9.7% more than in the same month last year.

In addition, 40,330 aircraft movements were handled, up 5.8%, and transported 2,654 tons of cargo, down 11.4% compared to April last year.

TRAFFIC BY AIRPORTS

Gran Canaria Airport registered the highest number of travellers with 1,348,463, representing an increase of 12.3% over the same month in 2024.

It was followed by Tenerife South Airport, with 1,157,851 travellers and an increase of 5.4%; César Manrique-Lanzarote, with 745,331 travellers (+5.2%); Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 592. 481 (+9.6%); Fuerteventura, with 580,937 (+14.2%); La Palma, with 129,102 (+9.4%); El Hierro, with 24,887 (+4.3%); and La Gomera, with 10,752 travellers (+14.1%).

JANUARY – APRIL

So far this year, Canarian airports have registered 18,733,561 travellers, 4.9% more than in the same period of 2024.

Of the 18,620,865 commercial passengers, 6,786,201 travelled on domestic flights, 4.5% more, and 11,834,664 travelled on international flights, 5.4% more than in the same period last year.

From January to April 2025, 164,450 movements of aircraft were handled, 5.6% more, and 10,560 tons of goods were transported, 3.8% less than in 2024.
