Canarian airports recorded a total of 4,002,858 passengers last month, an increase of 10.7% compared to June 2023.

Of the total number of passengers recorded at the island’s airports last month, 3,986,030 corresponded to passengers on commercial flights, of which 1,860,752 flew on domestic routes, 11.8% more than in June last year, and 2,125,278 on international routes, 10.4% more.

Additionally, 36,212 aircraft movements were handled, up 8.9% compared to the same month in 2023, and 2,550 tons of cargo were transported, up 9.2%.

Traffic by airport

Gran Canaria Airport registered the highest number of passengers in June, with 1,105,199, 11.8% more than in June last year.

It was followed by Tenerife South Airport, with 984,673 passengers, up 12.9% over 2023; César Manrique-Lanzarote, with 688,846 (+4.9%); Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, with 578. 904 (+12%); Fuerteventura, with 490,515 (+9.5%); La Palma, with 118,268 and the highest percentage growth, up 16.8%; El Hierro, with 26,500 (+15%) and La Gomera, with 9,953 (+15.9%).

Accumulated January-June

So far this year, Canarian airports have registered 25,798,128 passengers, 10% more than in the same period of 2023.

Of the 25,622,011 commercial passengers, 10,176,665 travelled on domestic flights, 9.3% more, and 15,445,346 travelled on international flights, 11.2% more than in the same period of 2023.

From January to June 2024, 228,755 aircraft movements were handled, 8.7% more than in the same period of 2023, and 16,269 tons of goods transported, 8.9% more.
