Campaigning is now over for the local and regional elections that will take place tomorrow. Today is a “day of reflection” during which political campaigning is forbidden. Posters and other publicity will remain in place until after the elections tomorrow.
The main parties on the island celebrated the end of the campaign last night with rallies, mainly in Arrecife. The Socialists gathered in the square in Valterra; the Coalición Canaria’s meeting took place by the Charco de San Ginés, while the PP and Nueva Canarias both held indoor meetings elsewhere in the capital.
Voting will open at 9am tomorrow and polling stations will remain open until 8pm. 35 million people are registered to participate in the elections that will take place throughout Spain.
