Binter crisp shocker

If you’re taking an inter-island flight in the Canaries with local airline Binter this summer, be prepared for a shock.

The airline has temporarily withdrawn its famous Binter Bar, a chocolate wafer that is given free to every passenger and is often eagerly awaited by travellers and their children.  Instead, passengers will receive a free bag of Munchitos crisps which, like the Tirma Ambrosia chocolate bar, will come in a special Binter packet. Both products are made by local Canarian companies.

The decision has been taken because of the risk of the chocolate bars melting in the summer heat. But if you really can’t survive summer without your Binter Bar, Tirma Ambrosia bars are available in any supermarket.
