Playa Honda will have more lifeguards on its beaches this summer after San Bartolomé has bumped up security on its most popular beaches.
Lifesavers will operate from 11 am to 7 pm on the beaches of Guacimeta and Juan El Curita in Playa Honda until mid-October.
“The beaches of our municipality are full of families that take advantage of their holidays to enjoy the sunny weather, and that’s why we have to guarantee their safety,” said Mayor Isidro Pérez.
Playa Honda’s beaches are not as popular as the tourist beaches in the resorts, but the wide expanse of Guacimeta and the town beach of Juan El Curita are extremely popular with locals.
