Bathers and residents of Charco del Palo have issued complaints to the Cabildo and the Ayuntamientos of Teguise and Haría concerning the amount of scuba divers in the zone.

The point of conflict is the headland known as the “Roca de los Monos”, a popular place for naturists to bathe and bask in the sun, where metal ladders have been installed to enter and exit the sea.

Canarias7 reports that locals have complained that scuba divers are blocking the ladders with diving equipment, especially at the weekends, and are calling for rules that require scuba divers to be separated from bathers to be applied.

Firemen released four people who were trapped in a lift at the Pancho Lasso Art School in Arrecife yesterday.
